Time Zones

I made the sudden discovery
That we are living
In two different time zones,
Separated by a chasm
Of night and day.
Apart and alone.
I reach out to touch you,
Feel your warmth,
Know the comfort
That is you.
But you are hours away
In this space-time distort.
No words I say
Will bridge the gap.
Facing the endless unknown,
Hammering the hands
Of this tick-tock time,
 Is it worth the effort?
Could any of my sweet machinations
Make you realize
I am by your side?
